Breastfeeding Journey Review
I never knew before that there was this whole process involved in having a baby. The pain in many parts of my body all at once, combined with sleeping no longer than 3 hours 🥹🤍… During childbirth, normally we should get full rest so the body can recover faster. But to be honest, sleeping long hours doesn’t exist anymore. From the very first day after giving birth, we have to start putting the baby to the breast every 3 hours.
That’s because every mother produces colostrum — packed with nutrients and immunity — which only lasts for about 1–2 weeks after birth. After that, the milk gradually turns white. When I first breastfed, I had no idea how many ounces the baby was actually drinking. On the 3rd day at the hospital, I tried using the breast pump I had prepared from home just to see how much I could get per session. My very first pumping session gave me only 8 cc 🥹.
What I love about the @attitudemom_thailand breast pump is that it has a stimulation mode that helps milk flow better before putting the baby on the breast. The pump also has separate motors for the left and right sides. Honestly, the first time I pumped both sides at once, it was so painful that I had to switch to pumping one side at a time. Luckily, it has 5 adjustable suction levels, from gentle to strong. I’d really recommend this for new moms — it’s a good helper.
After the first week, once we were back home, breastfeeding on demand during the first 3–4 days was quite overwhelming. The baby’s schedule was hard to control, so I ended up sleeping only 1 hour at a time. Everything felt so new and exhausting. Later, I talked with P’Meen and decided to use the breast pump during night sessions, while during the day I breastfed as much as I could. Otherwise, I felt too stressed from lack of rest, which also reduced my milk supply 🥹🤍.
Before, when I heard other moms talk about this, I didn’t really get it — I would just think, “Wow, really?” But once I became a mom myself… OMG! It’s beyond what I ever imagined. I never thought I could give up caring about beauty or sleep, and truly sacrifice everything for my baby. (Before, if I didn’t sleep 8–10 hours, that was impossible for me 😂).
I wanted to write this review to encourage all moms. Everyone has their own unique breastfeeding journey — there’s no fixed rule, and every experience is different. Stay strong, mama! Raising a baby might be tough at the start while adjusting, but it’s also one of the happiest things ever 🤍👶🏻.
